A New Chapter for Community

The New London Public Library officially broke ground in June 2025, commencing construction to remodel the former First State Bank building into a modern library and community-facing facility. The new, long-awaited community-initiated project features a STEAM area, adult services, a teen/young adult area, a children’s area with a Wolf River theme, a commercial kitchen, and music creation/video rooms for visitors of all ages.

This project was designed to showcase and preserve some of the original features of the historic building, while still making it feel updated and modern.  As part of that objective, much of the original exposed brick on the interior of the building was to be preserved, cleaned, and painted white to brighten the space.  ALC performed the painting on this project, as well as our other scopes of work, and it turned out beautifully.
